Tampa Bay’s Top 9 Must-Attend Summer Events

The Clearwater Beach Restaurant WeekMay 6th through May 22nd
Starting Friday, May 6th, you’re invited to attend Clearwater Beach Restaurant Week and nibble on some of the best local food your stomach could ask for.

This two-week extravaganza is promoted by the Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce and celebrates the diversity found within local eateries along the coastline. Restaurants will showcase their flair with dishes that’ll leave you weak in your knees, all while competing for “Best in Class” within their respective cuisine category.

Price: Tickets for the opening Clearwater Beach Taste Fest can be acquired here. Meal costs range from $10 to $40, depending on restaurant and time.

Clearwater Threshers vs. Jupiter HammerheadsJune 4th
On Saturday, June 4th, the Threshers host the Hammerheads at Bright House Field for what should surely be a slugfest.

With play areas for kids and pets, a tiki bar for adults, and a perfect view of the game, the outfield at Bright House is the ideal spot to cheer on our Threshers, all while celebrating our soldiers during Veterans and Military Appreciation Night.

Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience ConcertJune 7th
Re-experience the ’70s all over again with a new-look Led Zeppelin!

Jason Bonham, the son of the late John Bonham, Led Zeppelin's original drummer, stops in Clearwater on Tuesday, June 7th, to give audiences a remarkable guided tour of the legendary band. Part storytelling, part concert, part Q&A, the show should be thrilling for both old and new Zeppelin-heads.

Wings, Wheels and Wine June 10th
With a showcase of cars and airplanes, live music, dinner, and (of course) wine, the first-ever Wings, Wheels and Wine fundraiser should be unforgettable.

Located at the Clearwater Air Park, this event will be run by Arc Tampa Bay Foundation, and will host a live auction where all proceeds benefit people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Comedian Adam Ferrara at The ImprovJune 23rd through June 26th
Work your gut muscles out with a laughter-filled night of debauchery at The Improv, one of Tampa’s most famous comedy clubs.

Starting Thursday, June 23rd, comedian Adam Ferrara, best known for his work on FX’s Rescue Me and the BBC’s Top Gear US, will headline a weekend of stand-up that could leave an unfortunate few people with soiled pantaloons.

Space Oddity: The Ultimate David Bowie Concert ExperienceJune 25th
Whether it’s Ziggy Stardust, The Thin White Duke, or The Goblin King, we all have a permanent image of Bowie imprinted in our minds. Now it’s time to experience all of his personas in one spectacular show.

Often credited as the world’s best Bowie impersonator, David Brighton hosts this tribute act with all the flair and charisma you’d expect from even Major Tom himself.

And although we lost the tremendously talented artist, we can take solace in knowing this: of the billions and billions of years the universe has existed, we somehow got to live in the same era as David Bowie.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. LA AngelsJuly 4th
“Today we celebrate our Independence Day!” – President Thomas Whitmore

Cheer on your hometown Rays as they battle the Angels of Los Angeles on the Fourth of July. It’s also Military Monday at Tropicana Field! Bring the family and come show your appreciation for veterans all across the state and around the country! Opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.

One Man Dark Knight: A Batman ParodyJuly 21st through July 23rd
Did Robin really lay an egg? What does Batman smell like? Why so serious?

Charles Ross, a self-proclaimed Batman-nerd, answers these questions and more in his one-man comedy show at the Starz Center in Tampa, FL. With no costumes, sets, or props other than ingenuity, Ross will explore everything from the origins of Batman to what his suit is made of.

LEGOLAND Night LightsJuly 31st
LEGOLAND celebrates the summer by extending their operating hours into the night every weekend, with Sunday, July 31st being the very last day of this seasonal event.

Between June 18th and July 31st, LEGOLAND invites kids and their parents to party past bedtime. Once it gets dark, they’ll blast off fireworks above the amazing Lego-block buildings that make up the streets. This event is included with park admission.
