Tarpon Springs is truly proud of its Greek heritage, which can be seen just about everywhere in this quaint fishing community. Greek immigrants came here in the early 1900s to dive for sponges, resulting in the development of a vibrant Greek community. Lakeland has the Wright Stuff – America’s most famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, remade the landscape of modern architecture with his groundbreaking and unique designs. You may be surprised to learn that the central Florida community of Lakeland has the largest concentration of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the country on the campus of Florida Southern College. The historic Terrace Hotel is another local landmark which offers sweeping views of Lake Mirror.

A Trio of Inner Gulf Coast Adventures – Not too far from Tampa area are three historic inland communities oozing with traditional Old Florida Southern charm: Brooksville, Dade City, and Floral City. Start in Brooksville by visiting the historic Mary Coogler Cottage, built in the 1930s. Downtown Brooksville features historic buildings like the Courthouse, along with unique shopping opportunities around the picturesque town square. Nearby Dade City’s featured attraction is the 47-acre Giraffe Ranch farm and wildlife preserve.
