Tampa Bay Rays Set To Open MLB Season April 6

The Tampa Bay Rays take on the Baltimore Orioles as part of a three-game home stand at Tropicana Field on Tuesday, April 6, as the 2015 Major League Baseball season officially gets underway. New Rays manager and Tampa Bay native Kevin Cash will start right-hander Chris Archer for the opener. Archer replaces projected starter Alex Cobb, who was scratched due to right forearm tendinitis.

After a successful Spring Training in Port Charlotte, the Rays are again ready to battle for AL East title, which they won in 2008. Coming off just their first losing season since 2007, the squad is eager to take the diamond and get their first regular-season win. They go into this year’s season with a strong mix of veterans like Evan Longoria, Archer, and Cobb, along with a number of new players.

Cash will be looking to replace the glove of all-around utility player Ben Zobrist and has several candidates in mind, including Vince Belnome, Nick Franklin, Logan Forsythe, Tim Beckham, Jake Elmore, and Alexi Casilla. Young shortstop Willy Adames will be one of the new stars to watch this season, along with outfielder Steven Souza and South Korean infielder Hak Ju Lee. Of course, the Rays are looking to rebuild through their young prospects this season, after losing key players like Zobrist, David Price, and Jose Molina.

Nevertheless, the outlook from the locker room remains positive and upbeat, as newly signed players like catchers John Jaso and Rene Rivera, pitcher Kevin Jepsen, and shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera are ready to help the Rays make a run at the AL East championship.

The team at Dimmitt Chevrolet looks forward to seeing just how this year’s exciting season unfolds and wish our revamped Rays the best of luck this season!

  1. Thanks for sharing this post with us. A car is quite an expensive item to get, so you usually have to get it on credit. Financing an automobile is usually done by companies that work in tandem with car sellers. A typical form of financing is done by third-party lenders. Recently I bought a used car from ammotorstampa.com and it looks like new one. Everyone can’t buy car due to the high price and also budget problem.
